Anxiety and Acupuncture

This month is Stress Awareness so; Wendy from the Centre is sharing how Acupuncture can help with anxiety.

“I seem to be seeing a lot of patients in my acupuncture practice at the moment that are feeling anxious.  I look at the wider world and am not entirely surprised as we are living in challenging times.

I know every generation has always said that times were better when they were young and that there was less to worry about but I think people have a lot more on their plates these days.  Women are now expected to be mothers, run the home, have careers and look perfect at the same time.  Men are expected to be strong protective providers whilst being in touch with their sensitive feminine side.

We are all simultaneously welded to our constantly ringing mobile phones and endless streams of data whilst desperately trying to learn to meditate.  We are planning our budgets and holidays months in advance whilst trying to harness the ability to live in the moment! How do we find balance in an increasingly crazy world?

Many patients come to me because they can’t relax, calm down and switch their minds off. They just want a bit of peace - some space.

Acupuncture can really help with that lovely feeling of wellbeing and relaxation that we all need. It delights me to hear that patients are enjoying their lives so much more when they feel better. Even the simplest of pleasures are lost to us when we feel anxious all the time. It is such a waste to be robbed of them by it.  Life is short and it is so easy for us to forget to live it, whilst doing it!

So, whatever it is that is making you anxious: the thought of Christmas, things that are too much, or just that it’s all too late... don’t put yourselves through it any more.

Why not try acupuncture treatment and see how the change feels …. I know it works for me”.
