Well here we are in December and fund raising going well. So far reaching over £1000.
However fund raising is hard work, I should know I've done a lot of it over the years of being in Rotary and other charitable organisations and it's safe to say this time has been no different. I'm just lucky that I've been able to cash in on it being the build up to Christmas.
So I resorted to standing near the back door with the door wide open, but the onions were strong and had seen me coming….. so I finally had to resort to wearing an old pair of swimming goggles. That worked a treat, though I did mist up from time to time and nearly lost a finger or two in the process. So here’s the evidence to prove it!
Since my last blog I’ve expanded the range of products and have moved into baking. So now I’m in competition with Mary Berry, as I’ve been making a range of biscotti biscuits, florentines, shortbread and posh mince pies with cranberries, marzipan and frangipan tops!
Even my long suffering patients have been dragged in to helps… the lovely Betty, and her lovely friends Clare and Billy have been organising a series of stalls at Brampton Park Golf Club.
Today we fronted the -1 degree cold over at Royston, where my lovely daughter is Mayor and took up a stall in the Christmas Fayre in the High Street. That really was cold, but all in a good cause. Even my husband Bob was made to get into Christmas spirit and use his selling skills.
Glad to be back after a cold afternoon selling… now where’s the wine!
Next instalment coming soon…………….XXX
