Simon trained in Birmingham and achieved a first class honours in Podiatry BSc. Whilst in the West Midlands, he gained experience in a variety of different clinical settings from the NHS and private clinics to some world class professional sports clubs.
Simon can treat a wide range of conditions ranging from simple nail and skin complaints of the feet, to more complex biomechanical issues that cause muscular and joint pain.
He's experienced in the prescription of orthoses (custom made inserts for your shoes that assist in the treatment of lower limb problems) and has prescribed these for a number of professional and international amateur athletes.
In 2012 he treated members of the women's GB hockey team in the build up to the London Olympics. He's also been privileged to gain experience in treating players from Leicester Tigers RFC, Derby County and Aston Villa football clubs, the latter allowing him to undertake a clinical study on ankle joint range of motion.
Away from podiatry, Simon is a keen sportsman and dedicates most of his spare time to his passion of hockey. He's played for nearly a decade at the highest level of hockey in the English National League, and represented Wales in the European Club Championships in 2012, going one further in 2013 by winning gold. He currently plays for Cambridge City.
During his sporting career, Simon has suffered injuries, from a double Achilles rupture, to a fractured knee cap amongst other problems. Despite these setbacks, he feels it has allowed him to empathise with his patients whose active lives have become impacted with injury.
